Put on your reading glasses and turn up the volume on your radio. On our February 26th edition of Business Unconventional, we'll be talking to some "literary CEOs" - also known as authors.
Writing and successfully publishing a book is very much a business, requiring the same accumen that is a must for all successful entrepreneurs.
Do you have the right product line (subject matter)? How much will it cost to produce (time, lost opportunities, out-of-pocket expenses)? What's your marketing plan (if no one buys the book, then what)? Do you have the self-discipline and dedication to see the project through? What type of team do you need to assemble to get the job done (agent, publisher, PR, editor, etc.)?
Helping to moderate our author's discussion is Cathy Langer, head book buyer at Colorado's Tattered Cover Book Store. Cathy is a regular contributor to B. Unconventional and one of the program's most popular guests.

Arvin and Blakemore currently live in Colorado. Gottlieb, who now lives in New York and participated by phone, previously lived in Denver.
In a related segment on the February 26th edition of B. Unconventional, Dr. Harley Rotbart discusses the juggle that so many parents face between dedicating time to their children versus spending time on their businesses or careers.
Dr. Rotbart, a professor and vice chairman of pediatrics at the University of Colorado School of Medicine and Children's Hospital, is author of the popular new book, No Regrets Parenting: Turning Long Days and Short Years into Cherished Moments with Your Kids. The book was published February 21st.
Dr. Rotbart and his book have recently been featured in The New York Times and Parents Magazine. He is also profiled in the Denver edition of Examiner.com.
On March 9th, Dr. Rotbart will sign copies of No Regrets Parenting at the Tattered Cover Book Store in Highlands Ranch. The event is scheduled for 7:30 p.m.
