Driving their marketing campaigns – both literally and figuratively, two successful business owners reveal their unconventional marketing vehicles on the April 29th edition of Business Unconventional.
Justin Aller is a stealth (camo-uflaged) marketing genius
(www.camoagent.com). Well, actually, he is a pretty conventional State Farm insurance agent who has come up with a very unconventional marketing vehicle: his own Chevy Avalanche decorated in camouflage colors to scream “Look at me!” wherever Justin drives.
Justin shares with listeners how he transformed his everyday routine – driving to and fro – into a powerful sales lead generating engine. When the Colorado Rockies opened their 2012 Major League Baseball season on April 9th at Coors Field, Justin and his colleagues were right in the middle of the action. Literally.

Riding in the open back of his Avalanche, Justin and members of his State Farm team threw bags of peanuts to the appreciative crowds congregating outside the stadium. Attached to each bag was Justin’s business card.

Also on the April 29th show – and not coincidentally, B. Unconventional’s
Certified Entrepreneur #1, Homer Hudson Hillis, Jr., tells the tale of his own buzz-generating, rolling, billboard: a 1956 double-decker bus that once belonged to British actor Peter Ustinov. When Homer still owned Friendze, a chain of retail beads-and-crafts stores, he used the bus to draw attention to his brand, participating in local parades and parading around Abilene.
Homer no longer owns the retail chain, so he is offering B. Unconventional listeners the opportunity to purchase the attention-grabber from him. If you want it, says Homer, come and get it (and bring your checkbook). It’s available where it sits for a fair price.
